Hot Cross Buns
Just spent a whole day vegging out at the bestie’s place watching the really brainless (yet addictive) Jersey Shore and pigging out on our favourite junk foods. Missed those secondary school movie marathons so much where we just curl up on the couch watching chick flicks, painting our nails and swooning over Chad Michael Murray. Haha. Best times ever.
It’s past midnight now and time for the day’s experiment — fruity and spicy hot cross buns!
Bread is actually a lot more time-consuming and challenging to get right than cakes/muffins. Just waiting for the dough to rise alone takes hours! But it’s totally worth the effort. Luckily I’m pretty nocturnal so baking doesn’t end up taking chunks off my day. Being quite the bread monster, it’s inevitable that I start learning how to make some. Maybe cinnamon rolls next? Mmmm.
I’m so grateful that my family and friends have been wolfing down all the cake/dessert/food I’ve been churning out. The chocolate swirl cookies disappeared overnight! It appears my love for food is a genetic affliction. Not that it’s anything to complain about haha.
